I wrote the first version of this piece, thought it was worthwhile, but accidentally deleted it. Grrrr!

Hopefully version 2 will be just as interesting, although probably shorter, as I'm impatient.

We've spent most of the past year travelling in Australia, from the Dinosaur Trail in Western Queensland (did you know Australia once had huge dinosaurs up to about 50 million years ago?) to south as far as you can drive in Tasmania, in the orange caravan and white Defender.

Some time back we also lived and worked in Thailand for three years, but I'll write separately about Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar.

This isn't a travel story, just some reflections.

Firstly, soooo many Australians are travelling - it's like Covid 19 caused a national outbreak of itchy feet.
